“It doesn’t come in a bigger size.” she said, then turned and walked away.😳

Maybe it wasn’t exactly what she said, but more the way she said, with that dismissive tone in her voice.

Like somehow, because I needed a bigger size, I wasn’t worthy to shop in her store.

Except it wasn’t her store. It was a name brand national women’s retailer with a huge following and a great reputation.

And they didn’t carry a size that would fit my juicy hips.

That encounter, still burned in my brain, happened at Cool Springs Mall in Franklin, Tennessee. I was a few months out of college and excited to buy a dress for my new management job with a hot fashion brand.

But… no. 🤬 My money stayed in my pocket that day.

➡️➡️ In 2023, 70% of women in the U.S. wear a size 14 or above, and the average woman is a size 18.
